Finance Minister of India on Friday unveiled the third tranche of Aatmanirbhar Bharat Package measures to strengthening Infrastructure Logistics, Capacity Building, Governance and Administrative Reforms for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Processing Sectors.
Key Announcements
- Rs 1 lakh crore to support agriculture infrastructure projects at Farm-Gate.
- Rs 10,000 crore scheme to help Micro Food Enterprises for promoting the idea of ‘Vocal for Local’.
- Rs 20,000 crore will be allotted for fisherman under Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojna.
- Rs 13,343 crore outlaid for National Animal Disease Control Programme.
- Rs 15,000 crore will be sanctioned to Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund to ensure vaccination of domestic animals.
- Rs 4,000 crore earmarked for promotion of cultivation of medicinal plants.
- Rs 500 crore will be provided to support beekeeping activities.
- Rs 500 crore to extend operation TOP (Tomato, Onion, Potato) to all vegetables to help better price realization for farmers.
- Amendment to Essential Commodities Act to enable better price realization for farmers.
- Law to give farmers a choice to sell his produce at attractive prices by allowing interstate trade and promote e-trade.
- The facilitative legal framework under Agriculture Produce Price and Quality Assurance to enable farmers to engage with processors, aggregators, retailers, exporters etc.
