On Tuesday, Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said the air travelers should have COVID-19 certificate to enter Goa. The travellers will not be allowed to enter the state without a health certificate. The decision will come into force as soon as the lockdown is eased or lifted.
Vishwajit Rane has already approached the Cheif Minister Pramod Sawant to take up the issue with the Union Civil Aviation Ministry. He urged to not allow air travelers to enter the state without COVID-19 certificate.
Each state has the power to take every possible measure to control the coronavirus pandemic, he added.
He further said that even the COVID-19 infected patients get cured, the authorities will not be going to relax. The state is planning to increase the testing facilities in small areas to widen the scope.
The health ministry will set up as many as 10 rapid testing booths to ensure the safety at industrial estates and state borders.
The challenge of coronavirus will not end with the Zero cases in the state. We will follow the guidelines of the Epidemic Act and will make the mask compulsory in public places he added.
It might be possible in coming weeks no new cases get registered in Goa, but we will not waste the time in waiting. We will ramp up the testing facilities. Rane further added that he had ordered the health secretary to perform random testing in the state. We will ensure the guidelines of ICMR must be followed strictly, he said.
COVID-19 Active Cases In Goa
According to the recent reports, the goa has 2 confirmed coronavirus cases with 0 deaths and 5 recovered. In the last 11 days, no new coronavirus is detected.
Restoring normalcy
The Goa government had recommended the Centre that lockdown should get extended till April 30. The government decided to resume certain activities and establishments, including government offices from Monday after complete sanitization, said CM Sawant.
CM Sawant appealed the people to cooperate with the government in the three-day door to door survey. There is no community transmission in Goa till now but still, we need to take all the precautions. The government had already made mask compulsory in public places.

On Saturday, CM Sawant was the part of video conferencing with PM Modi and urged the Centre not to resume rail and air traffic as well as allow movement of vehicles on roads except for those carrying goods from other States.
