What is the Aspirational Districts Programme?
The Aspirational Districts programme was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2018 under its think tank NITI Aayog. The programme aims at holistic development of the districts. About 115 districts were identified from 28 states. The programme heavily relies upon the help provided by states for its smooth functioning. Delta ranking is a ranking released every month, which shows which district has improved in which sector. The government had released the first Delta Ranking in June 2018.
